My air pistol seems to have lost its oomph. It still fires, but when I break it open there is very little resistance and the pellet doesn't have anything like the force it used to have.

Is this something that can easily be remedied? Can I do it myself or will I have to send it off somewhere?
If the latter, any recommendations as to where to send/take it?

Thanks in advance and sorry about the noddy question, but I really know nothing about air guns other than how to load and fire them.

The piston seal is probably worn, or the spring is knackered. A good gunsmith should be able to fix it. What make/model is it?

Bah. Why is nothing ever straightforward in this house? Would you happen to know of such a thing as a good gunsmith in these parts-ish?

There's a shop in Shrewsbury that I'm sure does that sort of thing. I'll ask the old chap to pop in and ask next week if you like.

Get a quote first. I had my rifle serviced at the gunsmiths in Belle Vue Rd last year and it cost a LOT more than I was expecting! If I was looking for repairs now, my first call would be at Wynnstay or Morgans. Both in Oswestry. Good luck!
