Iï¿½ve read lots of conflicting advice on pulling off the male flowers off a cucumber plant, any comments. Iï¿½ve just planted some Marketmore seeds myself. Thanks David

What does the seed packet say? We grew one last year and had to take them off. We always removed them when I grew up as well. Courgettes, marrows and squashes you need to leave 'em on as the fruits need to be pollenated.

Females have a very small fruit behind them, males don't. It's difficult to know untill you see them both together, then it's easy.

Ah so basically it's the opposite to the animal world where the males usually have an apendage
