I'm just about to start using this with my sheep but it's testing below 3000 and I don't want them breaking out. I'm not sure about either the state of the battery I'm using to power the fence or the fencer I'm using to power it. Energiser is a Rutland 200 on a 100amp battery powering two nets through some vegetation in places. In theory, plenty of power and a reasonable charger, says it'll do twenty nets.

The earth is a bit of old fence post I found, probably could do better.

Suggestions on how to boost the system please. Thanks

Spike the fence through cardboard to keep it weed free? Having said that, I've got mine behind nets at the moment and the battery is on charge...

Ok, I searched ebay and google, and couldn't find an electric shepherd, looks like I'm not cut out to be a sheep farmer, thanks goodness for that!

I had a mate at college called Dylan Pym, whose business cards said

"Dylan Pym - The Electric Shepherd"

As it said "the", I assume there's only one

Sadly, I no longer have his number, so I can't pass it on

Oh to hell with it. I'm off to round up those electric sheep, but hey, hang on, all I have to do is get an old play station control unit and make them come to me... there's a whole world of possibilities out there for this... Just imagine, no more trudging up and down fields, could even get rid of the sheep dog, I can sit on the veranda, gin in hand and round up my flock....

deffo on cardboard,and a sythe/ strimmer for anything growing on the outside line a bigger energiser and or better battery might be needed if you can make proper gate units as climbing over and getting a toe caught so as to roll yourself up in a live net is a bad idea as i discovered one morning

And then there is "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by Philip K Dick which was the basis for "Bladerunner" and more recently "The Android's Dream" by John Scalzi which actually has sheep in it - and I seem to remember one breed is electric blue....
