Does anyone here know, or know where I can find out which injector pumps will work with which engines?

Needs to be a lot more specific, but essentially if you want it to fit, it will (in most cases!!) Right, The Oily One is asking...what vehicle?

It is most frustrating: I can probably get a whole car for less than I can get a pump for.

I've had a look on eBay, and there is no end of ones that might work.

Pretty sure they had the same basic engine through their whole production, but mine is on a "H"... What's that: 1990?

1. depends what is actually wrong with it. 2. 1.8 engine was used in 405s, 305?, BX ,poss C15 van and 309s 3. the pump off a turbo version will fit, but needs the different turbo injectors as well, so basically don't go there unless you have to...... all depends on the answer to Q no. 1

I believe the shaft has snapped. From running on cooking oil in cold weather. How does that affect what replacement pump to use?

Right, more explanation....the reason it has done that, is because it is a Lucas pump, and they only fitted Lucas to the 1.8 engine.

The 1.9s have Bosch OR Lucas, but you should only use Bosch with cooking oil. The seals go on the Lucas ones.

You could *possibly* fit one from a 1.9 but he wouldn't guarantee how it would behave.

He is researching a bit now for you, but you need to find a diesel specialist in your area. (ie not necessarily someone who will cost you the proverbial /expectyou to buy new)
He is looking on the fora too, so where you are- or where the car is? might be a help too

The car is in Sheffield,
I'm in Leeds at the moment, but I've got various plans to be all over the place in the not very distant future...

Are`nt there any Car Dismantlers your way? Or do you have the equivalent of the Free Ad Trader? I bought a Golf Diesel 1900,and after 4mths the Box toys-Brain-Management box,went, For �100,i bought a Mot failure,a year older,before these Management box`s were fitted,so swapped the fuel pump, Otherwise ,new cost would have worth more than car.
