I have two Large Blacks that I want to breed from. Where can I get semen for AI ? If I can't get it for Large Blacks, can anyone recommend a CROSS to get good bacon etc ?

Hi dirtyden, Here's an article from a forum "keeping pigs in France" which is has really good instructions (sorry if you know all about this already ) plus an address in the UK where you can get the semen for large blacks. https://pigsinfrance.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=47&Itemid=65 Crosses anyone - I don't know anything about that, our Peggy's still a virgin.

There was a bit on here the other day about best cross for a bacon pig and landrace was mentioned. Duroc would also be good bet, along with anyother 'lengthy' breed.

How about Tamworth? I'm sure Rob has crossed them with Large Blacks to good results. A nice, long pig, excellent for pork, bacon, sausages...
