or database or something. Shouldn't we have that? Isn't using as much as possible part of what Downsizing is all about? As most families throw away lots of edible food every year, I see that one estimate states that almost 1/3 of all food we buy get thrown way (the numbers are similar for Britain and Norway here). Quite a lot of this is leftovers. Let's do our part in fighting this.

Many here has posted some lovely leftover recipes over the year, but I feel we should try to collect them, somehow. Also, we should have a place where these recipes can be put for easy reference. Can we?

We could have leftovers as an option in the recipe database easily. Would that work?

Yes we can. And you're in charge of it. All you have to do is collect all the information into this thread and then we'll turn it into an article. Bet you feel empowered now.

Not a bad idea in itself, but shouldn't we make a growable database? An article seems like the Last Chance Saloon. If we have a sticky thread, people can put their own recipes in.

The thread is now sticky - and can be moved to the recpe forum if you wish - or a new one can be started there and stickified.

You can always recipify posts anyway. We could add leftovers or something similar as a category.

If we make a tag in the recipes database and add the recipes into the database that should be easiest of all.

We can always highlight a few in an article

I would think it would be better to have things to do, rather than catagories. Not explaining very well, but something like this.

Roast chicken
pull all meat off when cold, boil carcass, then make risotto type dish
Use pulled off meat to make chicken and veg pie.

I know that one, but I was thinking more general stuff really, rather than specific recipies, otherwise they are not leftovers as such.

how to make a decent sauce, and a topping to tart up something, type of thing
