Possibly the nicest shop I recall visiting; loads of stock but scruplulously clean and bright, busy but the staff were really friendly. The greengrocer section was fresh and clean and included two different types of quince, perhaps 10 different apples (several from Brogdale which was a bit strange); local stuff too (flour was the only thing I had time to look at though). If you are up that way I would definitely recommend having a furtle there.

I think they got them in for an apple day event (they kindly wrote to me to ask for permission to use some apple descriptions) so it is maybe not that strange.

Ahhh I see - thanks for that - they did have some good details on cards for each variety so they may well have been your words I was reading! The nicest of the batch I chose was the Rubinette and that may well have been down to your description.
Must say that even outside the apples the rest of the stock was good quality and varied, nice to hear they were so professional about getting the information as well
