Anyone have experience of this software? Meaning cheap software, no box or manual, just an activation key. For example Office 2003 for $60.

See the website

Legal?

Worth the money?

I can't imagine that it's in any way legal, I've never used it but I reckon it'll work

There are loads of places that sell "OEM " software at ridiculous prices, they are without exception of dubious legality.

There are nowadays many free software packages that will perform almost as well as (in some cases better than) any MS product, stuff that I use includes FireFox and Thunderbird both significantly better than their MS counterparts. I believe Jema has experience of OpenOffice what do you say on that?

I am using OpenOffice, not though in ay in depth way, but then what % of people do need all that these packages have to offer?

I have in the past needed all that MS Excel had to offer and found it chronically bug ridden then push to the limit

I wonder if you can get an old copy of Office97 on eBay? That's what I still use, never felt the need to upgrade

I upgraded, mainly because Excel97 sucked abysmally badly when you used VBA in it. It would constantly corrupt its documents so they would not load.

There was/is a big excel document repair business out on the web

A way of buying OEM products is to buy parts of a PC, even graphics cards I think. Not look into it myself.

But the link does not take you anywhere now!

Original Equipment Manufacturer

or something like that, meaning basically it is for selling with a new PC.

Sorry didn't mean to propagate the use of illegal software. Just the FAQ on the site suggested it was not illegal, just of Eastern European origin.

Was not suggesting you were. FAQs on these things will naturally come up with some excuse on legality.

Link removal is not because we think we would be promoting it. But links into "bad" places, if detected by google etc, can kill off our own site.
