Not exactly land management but...

The new pond is going to need a liner of about 10m x 8m. It's not stony or anything so depending on which liner I might not need an underlay. It's inevitable that it will be used by the dogs and I hope not to have to provide drinkers for the hens in future.

Any recommendations?

I used something like this: https://www.bradshawsdirect.co.uk/pond/pond-liner/pond-liners/25-year-pondkraft-polyex-pond-liners

It's like a coated woven fabric and I didn't have any leaks in the pond after several years use (we've now moved). I've even used the off-cuts as groundsheets, covers over the years and it seems very tough. In order to qualify for the guarantee you do need a liner though. It doesn't stretch so fitting might be a bit more tricky than some but I'd use it again.

That's much cheaper than what I've been looking at but the liner is more expensive!

It gets a bit confusing. I think this is the same liner but you're paying for a longer guarantee and you get 'free' underlay: https://www.bradshawsdirect.co.uk/pond/pond-liner/pond-liners/35-year-polyex-pond-liners-with-free-underlay-1

Thank you. It is confusing but I suppose I'll just have to go for it and hope it lasts a good few years. I cannot imagine complaining in 34 years time.

( I didn't enjoy that maths. )
