Guidelines for posting in the Trading Post

Everyone is welcome to post in the Trading Post if they have something to sell or give away or a service to offer. Posters will generally receive a better response if they introduce themselves first. The Welcome section can be found here.

This is the place to swap, trade and barter, no restrictions as long as it's not obscene or illegal, please use your common sense.

Obviously Downsizer has no control over these transactions so both buyer and seller should beware.

If you are unhappy about the content of an advert please contact one of the mods.

Posts here are generally advertisements. If you want to start a general discussion on ethics or the merits of a product or course of action please use the chat or DIRM sections.

We reserve the right to remove listings considered inappropriate.

On another forum I look at they lock all posts in Trading Post as soon as the first post is up, that way any chat about it takes place elsewhere and the only thing in the for sale post is the basic information.

I don't know whether that's appropriate here on DS but thought I'd mention it.

(note to mods: if you don't think that this idea's appropriate, please feel free to delete this post to save making the sticky untidy)

As someone who uses trading post sometimes it is nice when people say how lovely the product was last time, or how healthy the animals were, as an addition to the sale, as a recommendation.
