Has anyone used it? We sleep in our attic, and we need more insulation under the roof. Hopefully we should be able to blow or push it into the cavity between the ceiling and the tiles, and spread some in the eaves. All the literature I've seen however is about spreading it between the joists in a loft. Any help, as ever...

I recognise the problem, but don't have a ready solution.

Your attic rooms probably have 'small' horizontal ceilings and walls that are partly vertical and partly sloping at the roof angle - perhaps 45 degrees.

Any horizontal ceiling is the easy bit - assuming you have access to the void under the ridge.
The rest is a swine, unless you are re-doing the roof - when you might fill the sloping void with blocks, or use a specialist product, such as

which does not use natural materials, and is expensive - but is extraordinarily effective where space is limited...

Part of the problem is to provide for ventillation to avoid a condensation problem leading to in turn to rot or damp.
I believe that packing the sloping voids with loose fill insulation (assuming you can restrain it from falling into the eaves void) is regarded as likely to create a lack of that vital ventillation.
The vertical part of the room-wall is made difficult by restriction of access to its outside with panels. So blocks may be needed. The floor of the eaves void can be insulated conventionally.

Other than gaining access from the outside when re-roofing, the only 'pukka' way of doing things is to panel the attic rooms with special insulating (and foil backed?) plasterboard, skim as required and then redecorate the slightly smaller rooms.

I'd love to know if anyone has any better ideas...

The attic is one big space. The small horizontal ceiling has a hatch into it and the area behind the vertical walls is boarded with cupboard doors to get in, so they should be ok.

We don't need a new roof, and I was hoping there might be a way to do it without taking plasterboard down...sigh...

Probably time to get someone to come round and look at it. OH doesn't like the cold, and I don't like her cold feet...

which illustrates the need for the (50mm) airgap (point '2') between the insulation and the roof-felt on the pitched roof... That gap is going to blocked by any loosefill insulation. Only thing I can think of is to make up 'sausages' to restrain the loose insulation... scrap firehoses?
Don't you have diagonal braces to further complicate matters?

An oversized, really warm duvet is just *one* more reason for not leaping out of bed too quickly in the mornings...
