I�ve heard of this kind of thing. I clicked on a button, and then went to the sponsor�s page because the site said the donation would double. The sponsor�s page was a charity. Somebody will be paying for this I suppose, but I don�t understand it and I don�t know who makes the donation.

There are loads of this sort of site around, presumably the advertsing revenue pays for what they do. Knowing as I do a little about advertising revenue from web sites though, I do find it hard to figure out, as I cannot see they would make enough

Advertisers buy page impressions. They would most likely pay a lump sum up front for x amount and be called to renew their ad when the page impression target has nearly been reached. Or they would be charged for the page impressions as they went along.
