Hi guys and gals

Since a friend used my computer at the weekend - my MSN Messenger keeps booting me out or changing my status from Away to On-line. Seems to alter after 20 minutes. Previously, I could just leave it sitting on "Away" for the evening.

Any suggestions on how to sort this?

Your urgent help and advice would be much appreciated.

You can change your status to away and It will stay there.

Click on your name and you should get a drop down menu and click on the one you want. Or you can go to personal settings at the bottom and after your computer is idle for a certain number of minutes (that you set it to) it will show as away.

Thanks for your answer Becki - it's not as simple as that though. It somehow completely signs me out of MSN Messenger. Not really sure what's happening.

Try asking your question in HERE

You will have to join the group first to post and suggest you ost n general board.

The people who run this site are really helpful and give very easy instructions should you need to try somehting.

Hope that helps.

I have stopped using Internet Explorer and am using Mozilla Firefox at the moment and to date have had none of the usual blue screens or website freezing or lagging when in any of the instant message programmes, and best of all no ERROR can't find the page you're looking for pages, no crashes. I am so far, impressed!

Thanks moonwind - I've now got to wait for them to "approve" me.

Nothing is compatible with aol is it?

Having said that I used to use msn messenger with aol with only the usualy array of drag, freeze etc.

I have changed isp now and have lost many of the issues associated with certain software.

It's all trial and error I suppose, but msn does have its own little quirks to keep us all amused
