Sorry to digress slightly but if you raised two pigs over the space of a year and slaughtered them in the autumn how much meat would you get and how long would it feed a family of four for. Or are their too many variables to answer that properly?
Bum. Slaughterhouse have rung me to say they can't take them in till 11:00, no space before then. Rich was going to drop off before he went to work, we were leaving home at 06:00.
They say they'll try and get them in ASAP but how stressful will it be for them if they have to stay in the trailer for an hour or so. Also if it ends up being that long chances are Rich'll have to leave me to it, is there much involved in offloading or do the abbatoir people sort it out themselves?

At about 6 months old, you will get in the region of 160 lb of meat (bone in) per pig. As to how long it lasts - depends on how often you want to eat pork or bacon.

Crickey I'm lucky.
Cattle are easy to unload, it's normally a case of just backing up & dropping the door, when the staff are ready for them.
Backwards isn't difficult, as long as you take it slowly & keep your eyes open.
This'll spur you on...
Nick was in a strange car, with a strange trailer, having not been used to driving one, backed up like a pro & off he went. Now, you can't let Nick be better at something...

I have enough problems going backwards even without a trailer...
