I think if you look after them well, like you say Bodger, it doesn't matter if they are a house pet or hunting pet, or whatever.
But the only way I have seen ferrets kept around these parts is locked in a tiny rabbit hutch with wood shavings. And when I take mine for a walk, I get to odd chav coming up to me (can of carling in hand usually) saying 'oy mate, got a ferret i can 'ave?'
which annoys me no end. It's the same mentality that people who want to have snakes and tarantulas have - lets have the animals, not for their sakes, but to make us look 'tough'.
But I am well aware, that anyone on a downsizing forum, who take pictures of their ferts must respect them lots : ) yay! |
