A I dreaming or is this possible?

What I want is a cell with a drop down that contains values like:

1: 1st Sample
2: 2nd Sample
3: Fit
4: Approval
5: Production
6: Salesman

It's possible, but I've never done it on the sheet itself; I use forms.

I am not an expert but does the 'add note' function give you what you want?

Can also do it with Data/Validation, which is easier if you want to use the cell results in a formula. Forms sit on top of the spreadsheet and don't automatically effect the contents of a cell.

Select the cell or range of cells you want it to appear in, and the select Data/Validation and under Allow select List. You can then type a list under Source, comma separated or alternatively link it to a range on your spreadsheet.
