I'm very jealous too. Despite having no money, we looked at a chunk of land just down the road from the new house today (perfect for bees, as himself doesn't like them!) An acre and half, in green belt, AONB land, no hope of planning in a hundred years, and they've had offers of 30K on it!

Humph!

couldn't you find room for a hive or two in your garden---they don't take much room and can be made very unobtrusive ---ours were in our back garden before we moved them to wales----just need to make sure there's an obstacle fence/hedge/trellis to raise their flight path over any neighbours heads , alternatively if you join a local beegroup not only do they usually run classes but they usually have an outapiary where people with no room can keep a hive--I told my o.h. he could have bees but i wanted nothing to do with them as the thought of handling them was terrifying---went on a beekeeping course to keep him company and got more hooked than him

I could find room for a few hives, no problem, but MrWomble is very phobic about bees. So we need a little room for him to be a long way from them!

Let the record show that currently Sean is on the fiddle, while Penny has a "Holy unnecessary" (IIRC) avatar, which I can only presume is some sort of obscure tribute to the 'wonders' of Mr S Gerrard's youth... (either that or she simply got dressed in the dark).
