i knew a consultant would be required.

Perhjaps you should all meet off site for a "thoughts shower" and to generate critical engagement with all household members and the beans.

No, no, your compost's fine, I'm sure, but you might like to think about some Fee-Grow to help them along?

Unless you understand (and appropriately use) the customers' jargon, you don't have a hope of making sales.

There definitely are times for "qualifying the prospect" and asking "closing questions".

My own sales inhibitions involved wanting the customer to be aware of the limits of what he was buying. And most specifically saying "or" where any real salesman naturally says "and" !!!
Example: think of an estate car - the salesman says "It can seat five adults AND it has 2 cubic metres of loadspace" - I'm afraid that I tend to say "It can seat five adults, **OR**, if you fold the back seat down, you have 2 cubic metres of loadspace." Saying "and" (even if the things are mutually exclusive) is the expected way to increased sales...

Are you meant to catalogue them to encourage germination then?

With beans I'd go more for the folksonomy approach and tag them. I'll bet you haven't added them as 'friends' in Facebook yet, have you? Beans are very sensitive plants, you know.

Apparently 'brainstorm' is now a tad offensive for people who are a bit mental.

I used to work with someone called Brian who got very nervous the day the 'brainstorming session' was mis-spelled as 'brianstorming session'.
