I'm looking for someone who would like to live in my little house in Central Portugal, ideally on a fairly long term basis. It's small (2 bed), with mains water & electricity and a compost loo. Phone & broadband currently connected.

Situated in a pretty much deserted village, with only 2 permanent residents. Couple of km to a fantastic swimming river, bars, a little shop. Between three larger towns with supermarkets etc, all about half an hour's drive (one of which is where Pricey's place is).

I'm hoping to have it vacated by September, though that's negotiable.

So long as the utilities are covered, 'rent' is negotiable & could be paid in cash or work.

Might suit someone looking to explore the area and discover if living out here suits them, or someone just looking for a cheap retreat in nice surroundings.

Wow, what a very interesting offer. Sadly I'm not in a position to consider it, but out of curiosity, whats the land like?

About 2 ha total, including agricultural and forest.

There's a field infront of the house which is 'garden'. Then there is one field given over to veg with irrigation already in place, plus two others, and oodles and oodles of wilderness we've yet to hack our way through.

It is NOT necessary that someone be prepared to take care of this. It's all negotiable as we'll not be far away.

There are also several other houses & buildings in need of repair. Anyone who is willing to help us make them habitable is welcome to expand into them!

I'll see if I can come up with some pictures.

I can't work out how to make a photo appear in this post, but if anyone is interested in seeing a shot of the village you can look here. Ignore the others, they're intended for wwoofers.

If you can identify the caravans in the centre of the picture, that's our 'garden' with the house to the left at the bottom of the slope.

I will do the Electrics for you, in exchange for some windows

Everyone jump at this, it is a wonderful place, with so much to offer, i have been there and seen it,and It's only 20 mins from my house

You could not move to a better part of Portugal, and I'm not just saying that.

And Pricey's place being nearby is a selling point how?

Wish I could. A tempting escape and it's tugging at me.

I actually own 5 houses in the village so would be more than happy to host a build your own roof party

My other place is +/- 16 ha, so plenty of space for tents. Roll up, roll up, all welcome.
