Its good. Not the very best book of preserves (I've a WI book of preserves thats better), but still good.

Not having the HFW book, I can't compare them. However, I also have a WI book of preserves and I agree that their recipes are super. The Good Housekeeping book of preserves is excellent also.

There's a Marguerite Patten basic preserves book - very cheap on Amazon - that's very good.
