Haven't been on a plane in fifteen years, and probably never will again. I've lost the desire to holiday abroad (there's so much of this country that I won't have time to see before I die, never mind the rest of the world ). We have a car though, but Phil lives quite happily with just his bike when I'm working (He does six weeks at a time on his own, but we're only five miles from town). I wouldn't give up the car, even if I was just using it as a safety net for emergiencies (midnight vet run, for eg), though we go for days at a time without using it when I'm at home. Have to be honest, it's the fuel cost that stops me using the car so much, rather than a conscious environmental effort on my part, so I guess the goverment is getting that right, however much I moan about it! |
