Yep, been working on the cottage out back all week. It should be done in a couple of weeks and then guests will be welcome throughout summer. All you have to do is find your way here - it's about 8 hours from Calais. (map by PM)

Methods of payment: Heinz baked beans / Dow Egberts coffee / Sosmix / Wilko homebrew kit / I could go on a bit ....

Seriously, you are most welcome

The thermometer said 38 degrees in my greenhouse

Ours read 41 when I got up this morning .... and it just kept getting hotter from then. We didn't dare re-check the thermometer later but we havn't got alot done as it has been too hot here.

It is OK when you are here for the hols but hard work when you ain't!

We had a Church BBQ yesterday at the football ground. At 3pm the temperature was 38 with too little shade. It was too hot to do any work anyway. I was wearing a pullover last week.

that's the worst of it really

you never know....................

my kitchen was 80 degrees before the sun got on it on saturday

by 4.30 it was nearly 90 so butter wouldn't come (have put the cream backin the fridge) and it was a clear case of salads for the weekend with anything on the barbecue

(sorry normally only do proper temperatures)

For 11 1/2 months of the year, our lounge needs the woodburner on to bring it up to a decent sitting temperature. This weekend, though, those bare stone walls have saved my life.
