Has/does anyone use it to protect vulnerable plants & seedlings outdoors from to much UV?
Just thought I'd ask.

I have a bit of heavy duty fleece, held on with clothes pegs, that is stretched over hoops of alkathene piping which is nailed to a wooden trough full of salad bits. The crops are doing very well - slow to bolt, and no flea beetle on the rocket.

I have a few 3m lengths of the fleece - one is on the above trough, one is on the spuds (till today ) to protect from frost, and one is draped over the tender babies in the greenhouse.

I do also own a roll of fine white insect/shade netting but haven't quite worked out how to attach it snugly to the frames on the raised beds without having to get a sewing machine out!! so it still sits in my shed 2 years on.

The heavy duty fleece is much easier to handle and has lasted 3 summers and 2 winters so far, with no signs of disintegration, It seems to me to be much more useful. I got it by the metre form Harrod Horticultural.

Use viromesh - it protects from birds and insects as well as the sun, lasts forever. Not cheap though.
