Not edible but still a worthwhile forage while walking the dog. Many useable bits and I seem to have collected several gripper weights this year already. It's also good to get rid of all the old line and rusty hooks.

I picked up a couple of hooks, a swivel & a couple of metres of line yesterday.
One of my bugbears the amount of potentially dangerous stuff some anglers leave behind.

I can't say I've ever seen anyone else pick stuff up on my local beach, although I find it quite fun, having a dog and being a swimmer it's an obvious thing to do.

On the beach is probably gear that's been washed back in or uncovered by the tide, so hard for the angler to recover.
Mine was wrapped around a boat mooring on the quay.
Lazy & wasteful.
If it had wrapped around a gulls legs or wing!
