I have one apple shaped one that produces loads of blossom and fruits well, but is a totally wacky shape with long, thin, whippy branches.
I too have an apple shaped one and its shape is eccentric to say the least but because it is so productive I leave well alone. Anyway I rather like it's bent individualism.
You've made me think I might be on borrowed time with it though. Perhaps I shoud think abut pruning that one too!
