The season in this part of the country, mainly down by the coast, is quite long for 'exotics' like peppers and tomatoes, especially with glass houses, which shouldn't need heating to extend the season even longer. There are a lot not too far away that are heated, although I don't know how. Currently supermarket peppers are coming from Spain. Not too bad from here as there are several ferries a day almost direct. I know we should be eating local and seasonal, and I do as far as possible, but am currently making the most of one or two things like out of season peppers and courgettes as we might not be able to get them so easily next year.
