the title says it all really,i need a good veggie alternative to jerky that i make but that is not to potchy or fiddly as i will need to make it on a larger than normal scale lol,ive tried a few but they arent that impressive

Use dried slices of apples, or better still, halved peaches or nectarines that is dried. You can either dry them in a food drier, or overnight in a low owen.

It is a mixture of fat, dried powdered meat and wild cherries, pressed into cakes. I think it was some sort of tour proviant ade by some north american tribe.

Lots of different berries were used in pemmican, now where did I read about it?
