next door are moving out- they apparently havent been in residence for some weeks and during that time the cat they left behind has had kittens. I went outside to resuce some of the endless amount of stuff they borrowed off us over the last year to overhear them saying 'we'll just leave the kittens behind'.
Needless to say, I now have a cat carrier full of cat and kittens. My cat is going to go ballistic, so they can't stay with us, I've called the local animal rescue place and got their answerphone, so now we wait.

cross doesnt really sum up how I feel right now, that poor little cat has been stealing food off us for a few weeks and we hadnt realised no-one was feeding her.

Have you got your ex-neighbours new address? They could get a nice visit from some friendly animal welfare people.

they don't seem to be sure where they are going, rather complicated family, council address, lots of comings and goings of transient family members and all that.

We knew they were lying low after some trouble a month or two back but we really thought they were still there or we'd have gone looking for the cat earlier.

If only I was closer I would take them for you, at least until they were older enough to be rehomed, not sure how my cat would tolerate another moving in full time, he will allow lodgers though, My mothers cat stayd for 3 months and the just ignored each other.

We've manage to track down a decent sized cage from friends so we've got them out of the catbox at least. She's eaten a whole tin of food and is hopefully going to settle down for a sleep now. At least now they are in a sensibly sized enclosure we can hold them for a couple of days if necessary until the cat rescue people can come for them.

Hagl has vanished for the afternoon, not looking fowards to the scene when he rolls in for his supper and realises that there is not only another cat but three kittens in the house as well. He's a bit dotty at the best of times, I forsee much cat distress all round

I have to say that I just do NOT understand the mentality of these sorts of people - it's not as if it's difficult to take unwanted cats and kittens to the local cat rescue centre...

have you tried your local vet sally?

they might know of someone who would want kittens or alternatively, they might know of a rescue centre

having said that, when he whom we now know as Seven first showed up, and we caught him and put him in the playpen with the others, we tried several different rescue centres all to no avail

you could keep them yourself

you got one cat, you might as welll have a herd

How old are they Sally? Girl who works for us is buying a house, and wants to get kittens when she moves in - beginning of November.

nah, standard grey 'domestic tabby' and I had him down the vet to have the snip so fast as a kitten the vet had to make a judgement call as to whether he was 'all there and ready', so no byblows off my moggy. The local tom is a big black and white bruiser that causes endless mayhem with the poor catty euneuchs who would rather do flower dis-arranging and swap catfood and vole recipes, so we know where these kitties came from
