Looking for a couple of hop roots from an established plant. A named hop suitable for brewing, eg. Fuggles. Will pay p+p and something (trade or cash) for the hops. Please email. Thanks.

Nothing this year as I've only just go my plants. If you don't have any luck this year then ask again next.

Thanks for that.

I tried buying hop plants last year, but the retailer couldn't sell and I ended up in a job with long 12 hr shifts, so couldn't commit myself to the project.

I'm determind to try growing my own hops

They were quick with delivery, though, Deacons, and seem a nice company so it would be worth giving them a call. Not cheap for postage though, as they're on the Isle of Wight, it would be worth seeing if you can order with some friends, they do a good range of fruits.

We use wild hops and those from a golden hop plant and the old chap reckons they're plenty good enough for everyday beer. Wild hops are like weeds in our hedge, so we don't even have to go far to pick them!

It�s a little late in the year to start digging any up, so if you remind me in spring I�ll see what I can do. I�ve been growing Goldings and Fuggles on my allotment for 3 years, and use them for brewing. There is defiantly a nicer smell/taste with your own hops. Let me know if you require any growing details as I can give you some great sites for you to look at.
