A list that looks little more than a directory of traders rarely persuades me to click. I'm far more inclined to buy if I feel that I 'know' the person behind the business.
So, how about in addition to the regular static list of traders each week/month one lucky trader(!) gets highlighted as a 'Featured Trader'? You could give them a decent sized slot, comprising of a mini-interview (how long they've been trading, why they started out, what makes them different, what their plans are for the future, etc), along with a few pics, details of any current special offers and a link to their own site (if applicable). Basically, dress the Advert up a bit so its more like an article/opinion piece. Just an idea.... |

Looking at the forum, I think the trading post should be made into a section rather than a single topic. Under it you could split it off into 'wanted', livestock, meat, fruit & veg, crafts, etc., etc. That would make it easier to use & also have more impact on the forum, as at the moment I see some people putting sales/wanted items in the individual subject areas, which can get 'lost' if you are visiting the site with the intention of buying or selling. |
