Not sure if anyone has posted this already, but this week is Be Nice To Netles Week. Not sure if eating them counts as being nice, but anyway....

Not ruddy likely! We are overun with the things out in the back field. Get 'em composted down is what I say. That's about as nice as I can get with 'em

Well, in order to be able to eat them we have spent several years encouraging a patch in the "wild" end of our garden, so I guess that counts as being nice I'm quite fond of them... from that site: "The nettle supports over 40 species of insect including some of our most colourful butterflies" There are worse weeds

For a minute there I thought it was national Be Nice to Netties week..... The nicest thing I can do for my nettles is to hack them down, cook them, puree them in pigeon stock with some chestnuts, and pop a but of nutmeg and yoghurt in

Well if you count the two really dumb ones who are nesting in the conifer at the bottom of the garden, reguarly knock themselves out when flying into my lounge window, and who help themselves to my brassicas at every opportunity then I guess so!

They will obviously taste good at the end of the year, seeing as you have fed them so well.
