when i look at recipes - they are all centre justified.. which makes them hard to read... is it like this for everyone else? is it like this for a reason?

Left here too. It would be nice if we could add a print function for those of us who don't have a 'puter in the kitchen BTW.

Just because something is commonly used, doesn't make it right and def. not good

I didn't say that

but whenever something doesn't work on IE - people usually suggest the user changes browser.. whereas really all websites should work on browsers that are commonly used.

It is certainly not "right" people using IE are generally oblivious to the fact that web designers write things in browsers that conform to the defined standards and then have to tweak things to work in IE

firefox seems to be the most popular browser these days.. chrome is gaining popularity but IE users still account for 37% (based on this page)

Which is why we have to make tweaks to get some sites working with the non-standards compliant browser that it is. I no longer support IE6 on my sites, however, what version are you using?

IE7 as i said.

Blimey, it must be a lot of grief to have your sites support IE6 then, if you are prepared to potentially exclude 10% of visitors.

There is a distinct opinion that if you bend over backwards to support companies that don't support standards then you just keep the problems going

They may well function proparly in IE6, they're standards compliant, but I don't test in IE6 unless for very good reason.
