I have had three chicks ofseventeen hatch so far, one of them hatched at around five this morning. The others are not actually due to hatch until tomorrow. They are in an rcom king suro. Should I leave the three in or risk taking them out? I ask because another has been trying to get out of the egg since this morning and for some reason it is egg that the three hatched chicks keep sitting on.

If they are dry, I'd probably risk it, to free up some space. Have you taken the dividers out?

No, should I have done so? They do seem to be stopping the shells from covering any others.

Yes, I think so - it helps to give them space to rock the egg and wiggle out.

I would (very quickly/smoothly) turn it off (so the fan doesn't blow the hot damp air around) and get someone to lift the lid vertically up about four inches over the eggs, reach in and take out the chicks and the dividers, then put the lid straight back down and switch on again. Hopefully by switching the fan off you will keep some of the humid air in the lid.

Done, thank you. Just hope that chick has the energy left to finish getting out.

agree with Chez. If when you think there is no hope left...(perhaps tomorrow), try water candling -
smallish deep bowl of handhot water - place egg in - watch for movement over 30 seconds orso - if none - consider dead and remove. Its easy to see - the egg will jerk in the water and cause a little ripple.
Remember the water needs to be topped up in the incy.

It's still all go in the incubator. It's only twenty one days today but they are from several different sources and are bantams. About half have hatched so far and several are pipping

Lorraine, I have just followed your advice on the last eggs in the incubator. I should have listened instead though as three of them cheeped at me. They still might not hatch I suppose but they will be given some more time (before I put some guinea fowl eggs in).
