A friend of a friend read in some magazine or other that Frontline and its ilk (flea treatment for dogs) is another thing causing trouble for bees.
I was unconvinced by the story.
While I have no doubt that flea treatments are harmful to bees, they do not, on the whole hang around with dogs that much.

But the friend was concerned, so I said I'd ask...

The chemical is fipronil, (see small print at the bottom) which apparently has been banned as an agricultural spray in the EU because it is harmful to bees. But not in the UK because apparently we don't use it that way any way.

As you say, I can't see that using it on a dog would harm many bees.
