Can anyone comment on how long the sloe's are in season typically? Cheers. J

Probably still on hedgerows now - though it's been wet so haven't been out looking recently.

We tend to get them in October, so I would get them soon if they are still around.

Rosehips still out in abundance here and mostly not yet going soft. Elderberries and some haws gone or gone over.

Sloes are less plentiful just immediately round here than they were in Manchester or when we have visited friends in Cumbria or Herefordshire - so I may not be the expert you need!

Non existent around here this year, not a one in all of my usual hedgerows.

I went out today, did 6km by bike past my usual slow harvesting haunts. Only to find the tree's stripped bare to a height of approximate reach height. Every tree from home to the next town along, stripped to the same height. I am deeply suspicious that someone is harvesting them for more than just personal use... J
