It would, but think they are at the proving stage in real waterways on a small scale at the moment. The first step, then very useful, particularly at treated sewage outfalls. Even though the water is 'clean' my experience from the canals is that you can smell a sort of 'sweet' smell, so there must be some nutrients or other things still in it.
