i am feeling a bit vague on amounts but this works
per portion
peel a handful of big prawns, gently stir into a spoonful of cornflour, push to one side of the bowl
in the empty bit of bowl, pinch of salt, a bit of cider vinegar, a pinch of 5 spice, a teaspoon of peanut butter, black pepper.
mix it into a paste
add a bit of water and fold in the prawns
use a fork and leave the leftover batter in the bowl while making small patties
use a light oil and fry in a medium pan till brown both sides, a few minutes with cold but cooked prawns, raw ones might need a little longer but not too long
soy sauce
fast and nice, well the peeling bit takes a while if they arrive in jackets, naked ones would take a few minutes
ps that mention of raw prawns made me want to take a meshnet to a rockpool and rummage in wet cracks with a hook |
