I'd probably be repeating a thread if I were on the RC site soI 'd thought Id' ask here.
I've been an East Devon member for a few weeks/months now and I am due to start a beginners course soon. I'm trying to pluck up courage to ask to buy a bit of my neighbours field, but in the meantime I am considering keeping a hive or two at the end of the garden, in the fruit bush area.
We have an L shaped plot and no imediate neighbours but I'm a bit worried about the bees frieking; the'll be only 4-6 ft from the lane, albiet with a 6ft hedge between road and hive. I was intending to 'aim' them away from the road.
If they do friek would they be a risk to passers by or horses etc? Anybody got any experiences?
None whatsoever but I'd appreciate it if you could get an events and courses listing off them for the evnts calendar and if they've got a website we should put it in our links section

I am sure you will be told this on course, but you are better to site the hives back from the hedge,but with the entrances facing the hedge. Staggered angles for three or more hives.
