I picked up a new one at my local agricultural merchants and a friend gave me one they picked up at a charity shop. Other people seem to be able to pick them up cheaply at boot sales. Online the Woodsmith's Store sell a good range but I've not ordered from them so don't know what they're like.

Agricultural merchants here as well I wouldn't buy online as it's best to try the feel of it to make sure it's comfortable

Thanks... and the next question is why would I want this shape billhook rather than that shape billhook? Or are they all much of a muchness?

Nope

As to style depends on use and feel ( a lot of style is to do with the area they came from )

The longer curved noses tend to be used more for trimming rods and twiggy material and for riving (splitting) rods. Personally, if I was mainly cutting I'd want a shorter nose than the one you linked to.

Well I ended up getting the one off eBay, and I am not very impressed at how sharp it is. Don't know yet what I think beyond that...
