I'm putting the price of my eggs up. a quid for 6 is such and easy number to deal with - but.. studying the figures.. and convinced feed prices are only going to go up.. 1.20 for 6 now. spose everyone else is already charging 1.50?

�1.20 here, 80p for bantam, �1.50 for duck. Lots of people round and about have gone to �1.40. I am going to go to �1.40 for hen eggs in the autumn, pullets �1 then gradually phase them out as the birds get bigger. I paid �50 for feed yesterday

Still only a �1 here but I think next time I have a lull and then start to sell again I'll go to �1.20.

I charge �1.10 at the gate, and sell (as a registered packing station) �1 to the local shop who sell them at �1.55. I charge �1.20 for duck eggs.

well my girls have slowed down, (which in itself makes each egg cost more to make) so i figure if it puts people off.. we can cope with the egg mountain

If you sell such fresh eggs, people will pay a premium amount anyway... it is only us who feel bad for charging in the first place.

Well given you pay up to �2.50 for 6 organic eggs in a supermarket I don't know why you can't charge a lot more than you are for real free range eggs (the organic bit is less important I'd have thought than happy properly free ranging hens).

If I can sell any I still charge �1 for 6 which is what I was charging 6 years ago which was cheaper than the cheapest 'free range' supermarket ones even then. But mostly I just am happy to give them away (ditto duck eggs) cos otherwise they just go in the bin!

Why on Earth would you feel bad for charging?

Haven't got the time for that!

Don't really care about chucking eggs, as they are a byproduct of the hens/ducks which I like having as birds, not for what they produce particularly. But the byproducts are good (eggs and poo).

well, i had a flurry of sales today - even sold eggs that haven't been laid yet no complaints at price. 2 said i should make it 1.50 for easy change.....
