Hi all
we have 2 pet lambs Lewy and Eddie and recently Lewy got his ears sunburnt and now small black spots seem to be appearing on both his ears and his face, he seems happy enough and is still munching away and doesn't appear to be scratching or in distress at all - I've looked in several books and can't find anything (we have noticed that he is a lot fatter than Eddie too)
I'm off to the vets later to get some drench and will mention it to them but was just wondering if anyone has come across this before?
The black spots could be he lamb's normal markings coming through. We've seen lambs that start off with mostly white faces who end up with freckles as they get older.

many of the welsh hill breeds ... and improved ones such as the llyn sheep get black spots on their ears and face.
are the black spots just on the skin or are the hairs black aswell ?
are the black areas bumps?
as with all things if your worried check with a vet ..better to be safe than sorry
