How do you hunt them with dogs? I mean what do you do, smoke them out ir what?

All those rabbits were taken by lamping at night - the rabbits leave the burrows under cover of darkness to feed, the worse the weather the further they travel away ( wind and rain is ideal), when you shine a light on them some run others squat, the dogs run down the beam of light pick the rabbit up and bring it back to hand - alive, for this you need a soft mouthed dog otherwise the meat is spoiled - easy

, all you do then is dispatch , dress and eat !! a good dog such as the brindle bitch( collie /greyhound bred) in the photograph can pick up as many as 60 in an evening, at least with a dog the rabbit gets a sporting chance and there is no fear of wounding your quarry and the poor thing crawling off to die in agony.
