All right minded people know that Twitter is rubbish; it's half txt spk and half modern day Stasi, but some people insist on using it. I was send this comprehensive guide to how to get more clicks, retweets and so on.

Much of it won't apply, some of it might, so, as always, take the good, and leave the bad.

Personally, I think my main problem with twitter is the way people fill it with lots of @someone's and PLS RT!, which are picked out as cardinal sins.

Your experience may well vary, but it does appear to be reasonably well researched and backed up.

Share your thoughts and experiences, and we can all* learn together!

I don't really use it. I follow funny accounts for amusement. For what NOT to do, see UKIP...

probably both round here we have an expert tweeter,it defends it's patch by sounding like the neighbour's faulty house alarm

I'll read that and hopefully be enlightened. I do find I get loads more business related contacts and enquiries through Twitter than through Facebook, and its widely used by Heritage organisations these days.

I'm going to have to learn and make myself use it. Do people do it for pleasure or just for business. I really don't know the first thing but I suspect it's pretty easy to get to grips with.
