Are they any good?

I need to find a do-able solution that's not going to break my back or wreck my fields with neighbours huge tractor.
I'd tow with a diahatsui fourtrak or preferably set my son the task.

Presume towing with a Daihatsu you are talking about the spreaders to go behind mini tractors ,not the old type spreaders that were used behind tractors before the rotaspreaders or PTO spreaders came on the market,

The old type worked well with fresh or rotted manure ,but did`nt like matted stuff when loaded with a tractor muck fork.

I have one of the old type, I picked it up from a farmer friend for a couple of hundred quid. It works well behind a Grey Fergi and I can't see why it wouldn't work just as well behind a 4x4. I'll see if I can come up with a picture of it.
