what it says at the top .i found a couple of huge ones that must have been up for a few days this aft so i recon it is worth checking your blewit spots .

Excellent - Wood or Field? Mind you I'm buried under heaps of Ceps at the moment, but looking forward to Blewit season too.

We had some blewits a few years ago, but although I have looked in the same place since, no sign of them.

these were big /mature/slightly damp wood blewits located in rough grass a few feet from a hawthorn hedge and within the root area of some large oaks

other places that are good for these include grass over willow roots and grass over roots of felled trees

oddly i usually find wood blewits on grass rather than leaf litter

got about a kilo of field yesterday ,2 huge floppy ones and the rest as big buttons

the floppy ones are ace in a cheese sauce for cauliflower cheese

second use was the biggest button in spinach and olive filo mini tarts
