Going to make an incubator and use one of more light bulbs with a dimmer control as the heat source. So have the bulb(s) in the bottom or the sides? And presumably regulate the heat so it's the correct setting just where the eggs are?

Put the heat source at the top. You'll need to make the temperature 37 degrees half way down the eggs. Ish. You'll have cold spots in the incubator - most still air ones do - so make sure you move them all around regularly. To help with airflow, you can use a computer fan connected to a mobile phone charger to make a forced air, in which case it should be 37.5 throughout. If you do it right, it cuts down on cold spots. But still have two or three thermometers in there to keep an eye on what's going on.

Or borrow a broody

I do - but nothing is shagging effectively at the moment, it's a bit cold. Probably won't have anything for sale until February.
