Mrs barnowl, have you noticed the user name of the surprisedface post?
I think he is trying to stop himself expanding...

Thank you, yes, I think that was just me being a 'newbie' on the forum and thinking oh no did I say something daft!

Yep Rob, i agree, barn conversions seem to be all around I find, especially reading country-type magazines, but if your budget is a smidge lower!, then ex-councils are great in many ways as they often have more outdoor space than a new build, luckily for me ours has a decent square sized kitchen too, not trying to be smug here or anything!. Not as pretty as a cottage but a rose around the door maketh the house in my view!
