I have made this recipe before and it turned our rather well. Just started the process again. It's a bit different in that you marinade the chillis in a vinegar and sale bath for 24 hours before doing the oil. I drain the vinegar, add a little sugar and set it aside and bottle it as a chilli vinegar. Works very well. Also, the oil in the chillis gets slowly used for dressing food and for cooking. The chillis themselves are very addictive!

acid and salt make a lot of sense in a biohazard sort of way if you are putting veg matter into anaerobic conditions

chilli and garlic in oil is noted for some ace bugs if you do not do it well.

Yes agreed. I did a lot of research before choosing this recipe. I wanted some longevity as well as the knowledge that I wasn't about to poison myself!

I'd have been interested in how you were going to go about your vac(g) packing exercise.

I had some friends in college that tried the typo version with garlic in attempts to ward off yeast.
Sounded painful, odd, and potentially dangerous to me.

garlic has medical uses but that one is new to me.

a baked bulb on toast would be my garlic based remedy suggestion for such an issue.

if you have eaten a rather interesting tropical roach a couple of raw cloves mashed in butter might well sort out a very poorly tum as a by mouth dose.

raw by mouth is partially effective against midgies

raw with salt stings a bit in a green wound but will help a lot with most.

etc

for a sore gusset eating it is probably better than topical application.

I'm going to regret this

A couple of seconds after the thrush remedy is put into action down below, the thrush sufferer's mouth is flooded with the taste of garlic, and no, that person did not lick their fingers. Weird, eh?

Only on Downsizer could we get from a recipe for Preserved Chillis to garlic being planted in the Lady Garden as a thrush remedy.

If you just want to display the absorbency, transport, and potency of garlic compounds, you can witness the same effect simply by rubbing garlic on the soles of your feet, like a Roman soldier.
