i have found about 50 in a patch a few times , but my 3 patches could provide a haul like that over the season.

nice though, it will happen if you keep looking.
it usually happens when you have only got pockets rather than baskets:lol:

I need to find exactly where it is but Sean has found a great spot in the New Forest, it's about time really, as I have complained before foraging has been remarkably bad since we moved down this way. I think when we were in Swindon there was little available but we were one of the few hedge botherers. In the forests its the opposite.

I have a spot that produces the occasional Blewit. it needs to get a bit colder before I check.

We have had blewits occasionally, but not very often.

the soil temp needs to be under 5 C for blewits to fruit

i had a patch that was at it's best with a surface frost.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have our first snow by then!
(But hopefully it holds off until at least mid November)
