If we are going to ask that kind of question, is it time to properly take stock of where we are at, and where we are wanting to go?

Steady on now

Just clicked the Merionwen ad, there seems to be a bit of Polish (?) up on the blog there. From a year ago. Time flies!

Edit - "From The Hills" is now apparently a slightly goth band.

I think its reasonable to say that downsizer.net needed to get with the times on security, it is only reasonable that people who want banners are asked to do the same.

Not with you, most banner ads lead to dead/non existent pages. What are we taking stock of?

Yep.

I think we need to ask people that still want a banner ad to confirm that they're happy with their banner and that it points to the right page.

Would it make most sense to simply kill banners that break us, and to put up a new thread re-advertising the banner service with the new rule.

It would take ages to chase people down.

a while back my system refused to accept most of the banner ads , a new style might be better.

i dont mind ads as such but i do mind any that might lead to " odd" places rather than where they are/were supposed to go to.

more secure and stable seems a good idea, apart from serious counter intel protocols no form of communication is secure but sensible precautions against the likes of phishing, ransomware, data harvesting, scammers etc and using basic security measures is worth learning to make adjustments to details of everyday operations.

being "banned" for a proxy switch for a non DS tab while still connected to DS on the browser was a bit of a shock the first time it happened but having such protocols in place makes sense

I am now getting a warning every time I post that " this site is using an unsafe connection and your details will not be secure " ... can't remember the exact wording, but you get the idea.
Is it ds end of things or me?

Not seeing an issue and not a lot has changed. I refreshed the certificate a week or two ago which is a normal routine.
